Jay is a nationally certified nurse practitioner in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine at ShoulderMD. He works closely with Dr. Roache in clinic and surgery to oversee patient care. His care philosophy is based on building a partnership that promotes whole health and wellness. He is passionate about utilizing technology, integrating advances in telehealth, clinical education, and clinic procedures.
Jay has over 12 years of broad-based experience in healthcare and has previously worked in various settings including primary care, urgent care, and the emergency department as a nurse practitioner. He has taught and mentored students as a clinical instructor at a local community college. He also has extensive experience working in the operating room including assisting Dr. Roache in surgery.
Jay completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing with honors from InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico. He then earned his Master of Science degree in Nursing with distinction from Sonoma State University. He is certified by the Board of American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
